The Dragon Method Description
The Dragon Method is the new advanced programming offered by Capital Soccer Club. This new programming complements and enhances the experience that a Capital Soccer Club player receives through their own traditional team training and match play.
Program Description
The School of the Regista is the cornerstone of The Dragon Method and is aimed at helping develop players who are interested in strengthening their leadership skills and becoming “students of the game”. The term “regista” is the Italian reference to the deep-lying playmaker or “director” on the soccer pitch. Players like Andrea Pirlo, Xavi Hernandez, Xabi Alonso, Toni Kroos, Luca Modric, Paul Pogba, Lauren Holiday, Lindsey Horan, Rose Lavelle, and others are just a few examples of players who are considered, in some form, to be a “regista”. At the very heart of it however, the “regista” is a player who thinks the game, is a leader on and off the field, and is the complete soccer player – fully committed to mastering the tactical, technical, physical, and psycho-social aspects of the game.
The School of the Regista is Capital Soccer Club’s educational program that trains individuals in the tradition of the “regista” – developing players who are truly students of the game. Not just for midfielders, the School of the Regista is for all players of every position in Capital Soccer Club who seek additional training at a higher level.
Course Details
Each weekly 60-minute class will focus on one theme and will be entirely in the classroom. This “Special Session” will be focused on learning what makes great players great and crucially, what makes great teams great. This will be taught by analyzing men’s and women’s professional and collegiate match video, as well as our own match video, PLUS discussing methods in which to get the best out of our teams and ourselves as athletes and leaders. Students will not only be able to participate in professional video and tactical analysis but will learn methods in which to train like a “regista” – a special player.
