Dear Capital Soccer Club Families,
Since last we wrote, a lot has changed. Schools have closed, social distancing has become isolation, and we are faced with new realities every day. In this rapidly changing world, we look for constants that we can count on. Capital Soccer Club’s priorities are always our players, families, and communities, and we want to be there for you as we navigate these difficult circumstances together.
The hardest part of responding to this challenge is the number of unknowns – How long will social distancing last? What will happen when we’re allowed to interact again? Will there be a return to normal?
As we counsel our players at every match, it is important to focus on what we can control, and not spend time and emotional energy on what we cannot. So, we’d like to take a moment to outline our current responses to the situation:
Please understand that we are cancelling a significant portion of tuition, while continuing to pursue programming through June and perhaps beyond. We are applying for some relief from government/private sources, but are prepared to absorb this hefty loss even if we are not granted any funding.
Lastly, as a final word, we realize that there is very little we can do to eliminate this public health threat, aside from staunchly promoting social distancing. However, there will come a time when we will have a role to play in healing communities, providing opportunities for youth and adult players to play and learn, and to support families as they head back to work. Know that we embrace this role as a deeply invested member of the Central Vermont community. If you have ideas on how we can make a positive difference in your town, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Thanks for your time and continued support of Capital Soccer Club. We wish you health, safety, and security during such exigent circumstances.
Sincerely,
Pete, George, and Eric
